City College Norwich Motorsport, the team led by Team Principal and Head of Engineering / Building Services Leon Wilde, has announced that Isaiah Egwuagu has joined the Norfolk squad for selected rounds of the 2026 Student Motorsport Competition. The first outing for the ex-Next Racing Generation pilot will be at Silverstone on June the 13th – 14th.
Isaiah has been involved in motorsport for over ten years, having begun his racing career in karts. His earliest outings were in outdoor electric karts before he began racing in the Daytona Motorsport series in 2019. Winning championship honours three times over two years with Club 100, Isaiah has tested electric karting prototypes across Europe, and last year he was the first driver to compete for Next Racing Generation Motorsport when the team entered the 2025 Monoposto Championship at Silverstone.
Isaiah is delighted to be joining the Student Motorsport Competition grid when it returns to the Silverstone National circuit in mid-June.
“I’ve always been interested in Student Motorsport, and I filled out Driver Interest forms for at least three of the four years the Competition has been running!” he said. “It’s just been a case of budget, and now I have the budget, I don’t quite have the time for all the remaining rounds in 2026. That’s why it’s a limited season while I look to facilitate a full season next year because it’s a project I’m very excited to be getting on board with.”
Isaiah is keen to not only be competitive but also to work with the students to provide them with the practical experience that will support them with their future careers.
“I want to bring City College Norwich up the standings, for sure, but I also want to help the students grow as well,” he explained. “As a graduate myself, I feel like a lot of education nowadays is not as practical as it could be, and Student Motorsport gives that practical foundation for students to learn in a real-time environment. To support that learning environment is going to be the exciting thing for me as well as entering the ranks in circuit racing.”
Team Principal Leon Wilde has warmly welcomed Isaiah to the CCN squad, joining Sean Feehan as part of the team’s two-driver line-up in the world’s premier motorsport competition, providing real-world trackside experience for the next generation of industry professionals.

The car has been fully prepared, and the team is aiming for a strong and progressive weekend as they continue to progress and gain valuable race experience.
