How I contribute to Student Motorsport

"Hi I'm Jack, I will be supporting Student Motorsport and its members by providing information on motorsport reporting and journalism."

I'm proud to be involved in this Student Motorsport and also help out with other elements including writing press releases, dealing with social media and fielding questions from media outlets.  I’ll be available to take questions from budding journalists and people aiming at careers in PR, and will devote as much time as possible to help further careers."

Jack wants to give back to the motorsport community in the same way as his mentors have to him.  He’ll be available to take questions from budding journalists and people aiming at careers in PR, and will devote as much time as possible to help further careers.  He’ll also be around to share his experiences in motor sport so far.

What I do

Jack already has experience in the Publications sector after successful spells on work experience at Autosport Magazine and graduated from University in 2015.  He is now following his aims with a career in motorsports journalism and is the National Rallying Editor and Motorsport News since June 2015 where he covers the two highest rallying series in the country, The British Rally Championship and BTRDA Rally Championship.  He is responsible from looking after anywhere from three to seven pages each week in Motorsport News, as well as writing features as part of the publications core team.

Jack is also part of the Autosport junior programme, which helps develop young motorsport journalists with a view to integrating them into the company.  This experience is one of the reason’s Jack is so passionate about helping to give back to those who were in a similar position.

More about me

“My passion for Motorsport started with my Dad, who exposed me to many Rallying and Formula 1 videos that my first words were ‘Didier Auriol’ the 1994 World Rally Champion.  After Go-Karting for three years I quickly started to realise that I was more interested in talking about motorsport rather than actually compete in it.

I’m very pleased and excited about being invited to take part in and offer my support to Student Motorsport.  Sharing my experience on entry into motorsport which included working for Autosport, and providing members with an insight into motorsport journalism is what I am passionate about.  You can contact me via Student Motorsport, or why not come and see some of my articles in the Resource Centre.”
