How I contribute to Student Motorsport
"I’m Holly, and I'm excited to be involved with Student Motorsport and contributing my stories, advice and insights. I’ve spent five years at Oxford Brookes University studying Motorsport Engineering and I’m a passionate STEM Ambassador, keen to influence the next generation of engineers.
My own career is just getting started and I’ll be sharing my challenges and successes here with the members at Student Motorsport, and hopefully give some advice along the way."
What I do
"I’m in my final year now at Oxford Brookes University studying for a MEng in Motorsport Engineering. During my degree I’ve searched for as many opportunities as possible, taking an active role in my Formula Student team, securing a year’s placement at one of the best DIL simulators in the world, and experienced the chaos and fun of F1 working race operations at Manor.
As a passionate fan of motorsport I know I has to keep up with technology developments to remain relevant to the future, and I’m determined to stay on the front of innovation. I’m excited to see electric racing such as Formula E growing as an industry."
More about me
"I’m also a firm advocate for autonomous vehicle technology as an essential mobility development to save lives all across the world. It’s an exciting industry to be part of and moves even faster than motorsport!
I’ve had the great experience of being part of StreetDrone, a startup in Oxford developing an opensource driverless vehicle platform, working as an R&D engineer.
I’m entering my final semester right now at Brookes, and I can’t wait to graduate in June.
When I came across Student Motorsport on Twitter I instantly felt I could be part of it; I’m keen to help future students or anyone looking for advice on how to get into engineering industries."
