How I contribute to Student Motorsport
"Hi I'm Dan, I contribute to the Student Motorsport website through articles about my time at college and my journey into the motorsport industry. Some of the things I write about can be found in the Student Motorsport Resource Centre."
What I do
"I am currently an Elite MSA Academy driver, studying the MSA AASE course at Loughborough College after being noticed and recommended by the MSA kart tracks. I first started motorsport when I was twelve and have always had a very keen interest from a very young age in motorsport, many of my family members race such as Jon Minshaw who is currently racing British GT and Alan Minshaw who used to race BTCC."
More about me
"My first ever Go kart was a Rotax Senior Max that I used to test at my local track Ellough Park Raceway in Beccles, Suffolk. After that I gained a lot of confidence when driving and learnt from the more experienced drivers. I became noticed and since racing non MSA at Ellough Park Raceway I started racing MSA Karting at Bayford Meadows in Kent. I then got contacted by Paddy Lowe who is the head engineer at Mercedes Petronas F1 who has guided me throughout my MSA racing in Go karts."
"Since being at the MSA academy I have started racing Formula Ford 1600 with Simon Green Motorsport. My first race in the Formula Ford at Mallory Park didn’t go how I planned as I crashed out in Qualifying and went backwards into the barrier at 90mph. I then raced at Silverstone at the Walter Hayes Trophy in my Formula Ford."
