Student Motorsport are proud to welcome Centurion Racing to our new website, we are collaborating with them to raise awareness of and support their entry into the F1 in Schools competition. We're also aiming to share information on their activities, progress and success and inspire other pupils, our members, students, graduates and aspiring automotive and motorsport professionals.
What they do...
Centurion Racing is an F1 in Schools team from West Yorkshire. The 6-strong team have to design and race a CO2 powered high density foam car, give a presentation and exhibit a trade show style ‘pit display’. Teams are judged on all elements, not just the speed of their car, which by the way is fast, reaching speeds of 80kmh and covering the 20m track in speeds of approximately 1 second, yes that’s right, 1 second!
Every year, over 15000 teams from over 40 nations compete in the F1 Schools Challenge. Last year, the first time the team entered, Centurion Racing became the first team from West Yorkshire to reach the National Finals at Silverstone, finishing 18th out of 30 teams, also receiving a nomination for the Team Sponsorship and Marketing Award.
How we're working together...
Student Motorsport and Centurion Racing are working together to raise awareness of the fantastic things that they and other pupils are achieving in the F1 in Schools competition. We aim to reach out to potential sponsors who can support them in their competition entries. "We're really excited about our partnership with Student Motorsport because it will help elevate the team’s image to generate a greater social media impact and help attract bigger, more widely known sponsors.
